What Drives Faculty Publication Citations in the Business Field? Empirical Results from an AACSB Middle Eastern Institution

This paper examines how journal-, article-, and author-related factors influence citation counts in the business field using 236 journal articles collected from an AACSB medium research output school Middle East between 2017 2021. Results association tests demonstrated that rank format, subfield of article, author prestige are significantly related to number citations. CHAID further presence interaction/joint effect among variables; particular: (1) published Q1 WoS journals also authored/co-authored by authors resulted highest citations; (2) Q2–Q3 belonged management domain average citations, (3) Q4 or unranked ranked Q3–Q4 Scimago lowest These results provide theoretical implications practical recommendations for faculty schools interested enhancing their scholarly impact rankings.
